Partner Mary Haffner has been on the Ventura County Behavioral Health Advisory Board for 4 1/2 years. In that capacity she has been able to observe how Ventura County delivers mental healthcare services to residents. This White Paper contains some of her findings as County services pertain to the seriously mentally ill. It is our hope that Ventura County can work with stakeholders to establish public-private partnerships to leverage funds to better serve Ventura County residents.

Thank you so much.
Thank you for writing the commentary in the Star paper today. Brought tears to my eyes, because I have felt so alone and helpless. Two times I have voluntarily committed myself for a 72 hour hold, wanting so much to get help. Los Robles Hospital could care less and lack of communication as to where they were sending me next. I was sent out of the county to two different hospitals I didnt want to go to. No communication or treatments for my illness while in their hospitals. Instead I was only housed and bullied while in those hospitals. I left in worse shape than when I entered. I am now at the point where I am to traumatized to ever ask for help. I am refusing to pay the $15,000 bill from the last hospital stay. Is there help through the legal system for someone like me? Help me fight this last hospital stay? This nonsense needs to stop. I really wanted help with my illness.
